On Saturday, May 4th, a string quartet from the Spokane Youth Symphony participated in the opening ceremonies celebrating the 50th anniversary of the world's fair that opened in Spokane on May 4th, 1974, at the newly constructed Riverfront Park. Saturday's ceremonies took place at the Riverfront Park Pavilion.
The quartet included Christopher Anderson, violin, Madeline Smith, violin, William Farley, viola and Charles Johnson, cello.
They delighted the audience with their performances of the first movement of Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" and the Beethoven String Quartet, Op. 18, No. 1 first movement.
